The Tinahely Women’s Network has for many years marked and celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th as much empowerment of women has happened on the back of the first international women’s conference in Copenhagen back in 1910. International Women’s Day was first held in Germany in 1911. The year 2011 is the centenary of this remarkable day and The Tinahely Women’s Network Arts Committee decided to mark the day with a truly international event. The chosen medium was a mail art project as that can very easily, and at very little cost to the participants, become a real international event for women.
We encourage you to participate and look forward to seeing your postal spin on the idea.

What a great concept. Here’s hoping i can get my postcard done on time, & posted to the other side of the world. I am certainly looking forward to viewing all the wonderful works from loads of talented women from around the globe
